For 65 dollars a square foot and utilizing a federal voucher program that allows the usual renter to become a buyer, the configuration of the InSideOutSide House allows multiple and simultaneous houses, all for the same family, all on the same lot. By way of a spatial manouver, more space and more expanse is found on, and within the same piece of land.
The major components and scheme of the InSideOutSide House might be described as a kind of ‘Cosmos of Houses’ which consists of:#1 The Inside House (core of rooms) which is inside the #2 Outside House (weatherproof wrapper) which is inside the #3 Inside-Outside House (the entire 50’ x 100’ lot/plot).
Other finer layers of the multiple and simultaneous houses emerge upon a closer look at this ‘cosmos’ of houses, including: the Bow Wow Dog House inside the Outside House, the Green Side House in the InSideOutSide House, and the miniature or 1/2" = 1' scale Model House that finds its home inside the home itself.
